I Bet

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okGcksYM0N8&w=560&h=315] If you haven't heard, singer Ciara and her boyfriend, Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson have been in the news lately. Did they rob a bank? No. Did they curse out the President? No. Were they arrested? No. So why are they in the news? Let me introduce you to Future, Ciara's ex-fiancee, and father of her son, Future (kid you not, that is the kid's horrible name). Future (who shall

Happy

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM&w=560&h=315] I really do love how naturally happy Bear is. He's just a ray of sunshine no matter how stormy my day is. No other reason for this post than that. I hope all of you are doing wonderful.

Our visit to the Special Olympics!

Over the weekend, we went to the Special Olympics here in L.A. I've never been to any Olympic-type of event so this was pretty rad. All of the events were free and were held in different places in L.A, namely USC, the Convention Center, and UCLA. Since we were closer to the Convention Center, we went there. We watched one sport - handball - and I checked out the awards

Mushrooms & Roses

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_daZ57HEOU&w=420&h=315] Baby fever is starting to catch up with me. A few months ago, I had a pregnancy scare. Hmm...I don't think I actually like calling it a scare. I know I wasn't ready at the time and I was a bit freaked out. Amazing how a few months can really make a difference. It's not even a feeling of missing being pregnant or seeing all of the cute onesies out

#ThrowbackThursday – Breastfeeding Edition

I'm going to start doing #TBT posts on here to play catch-up since there was a long block of time when I didn't post at all. This was taken sometime this past spring since my hair is multicolored (it's currently a bright red). Fun story - I attempted to dye my hair a deep purple but it didn't pan out. It turned out to be a haphazard multicolor of purple, pink,

Start Me Up

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGyOaCXr8Lw&w=560&h=315] To Leash or To Not Leash? That is the question. I'll admit it - BC (Before Children), I was vehemently against putting kids on a leash. I couldn't understand why parents felt the need to do that. Are they really horrible parents that can't control their kids? Are their kids that uncontrollable? Why would you treat your child even less than an animal? Now having Bear..I totally get it. Bear is very independent.

Cold Rock a Party

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSzxzCKyvEk&w=420&h=315] I've bragged and boasted how Bear had never been sick. Well, I can still brag and boast a little. Just a smidgen. Yesterday, while we went out to Sunday Sessions in Grand Park, I had the smart idea in leaving him in his wet clothes, considering they were drying and I didn't think it was necessary to switch him into dry clothing. I took the risk once before when

Future Baby Mama…Soon?

It's about that time. To TTC. I'm currently on CD 9 and I'll start tracking my ovulation in a couple of days. Ideally, I would've already been pregnant with Rainbow Baby #2 and possibly, would've given birth. Life is funny that way. You have an idea of how you want things to go and oops, not quite. I'm excited. The more round preggo tummies I'm seeing, the more I want to be

12-year-olds Pinpoint What is Wrong with Race.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6xSyRJqIe8&w=560&h=315] Kids are not blind to the racial issues that are plaguing America. “I feel a little scared if I just walk down the street,” said 12-year-old Lamine Fofana in a video produced by WNYC, a public radio station in New York City. "Cops might just think I’m doing something bad and if I try to explain to them, they won’t listen and just start beating me up and doing terrible things

Can It Be All So Simple? (To learn another language?)

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m148vZDwJA&w=420&h=315] Raising a bilingual child is well...a lot harder than it should be. From the get-go, M. and I have always determined that our children will be bilingual in Russian and English. He would speak primarily Russian and I would speak primarily English (though I am actively learning Russian and try to speak a little of it every day). With Yoda not quite talking yet (though I'm told it's nothing
