I recently tried the DevaCurl No-Poo cleansing conditioner on Bear. I tried it on my hair before (for a refresher, click here), so it was time to do it on Bear's hair.
Pros:
It cleans very well.
DevaCurl is a strong brand.
It has a lot of slip.
It is heaven for those with Type 3 hair.
Cons:
It's super expensive! My little 3 oz bottle cost $10.
If you have a sensitive nose, you probably won't

A question I get a lot (and from adults, surprisingly!) is how I manage Bear's curls. I would love to say it's just a magical thing and he naturally wakes up like that every morning, but no. I have to work at it.
Here is what I use and the various tips that could help you. I've also included my Bear's curly hair playlist for you to check out!

As I continue to experiment with Bear's hair, I love trying new products. I've heard a lot of great things about the Aunt Jackie's brand so I decided to give it a whirl for both me and Bear. The results weren't all that great for me but for Bear, it was a miracle worker. Let's get right into it.
Consistency:
It's a cream so it's thick.
Smell:
Very light. Honestly, there really isn’t
I recently tried Curl Renew on Bear's hair in another attempt to see what is the best spray for his curls and potential frizz. I have to admit, this is a fun experiment because his curls are well, super curly and there are a lot of products on the market for him. (So, all you curly-haired fans, this is a treat for you!)
Now we know the player, let's review
Cantu Beauty has a new (well, new to me) product in their line that I happily test-drove on Bear's hair. I did use the product on my hair but I don't think I had the same results as his (and when I mean by the same as in my hair still frizzed up pretty bad).
Now, I have to say this before you read on, Los Angeles (and pretty much
I've been getting a lot of questions on Bear's hair care routine and the products I use. Since I'm often trying new products on his hair, I decide to share my tips, tricks, (and some misses) as well as rave about some products I've used. Let's go!
Figure out your child's hair type. Biracial/mixed and curly hair often comes in different curl patterns and textures. Once you determine your child's

For this week's biracial/mixed hair care review, we're checking out Dream Kids' Olive Miracle Instant Moisturizing Detangler (whew, that's a mouthful!).
Dream Kids is made by African Pride, a brand I'm very familiar with. This detangler contains water as the main ingredient, shea butter, Vitamin E, and aloe vera. The following oils are included: olive, coconut, grapeseed, jojoba, avocado, wheatgerm, and

So, I've been on the search for the perfect shampoo for Bear. He has super curly hair. If I had to put him into a category, it'll be 3A/3B hair type. This is a child who does a lot of things with his hair - he pulls on it, he wipes his dirty hands on it, he has no qualms
Let me begin with a preface for those who are new to the blog: I often use hair care products that wouldn't be typically geared to biracial/mixed and/or curly hair. I want to show what products work best for curly hair as well as what I typically have in my armory. It's one of the benefits of being a naturalista - whatever I use on my hair, I can
So, I have a lot to catch up on this blog. Yeah, believe it or not, despite how often I post, I actually have a bit of a backlog! I guess I'm full of ideas (or full of it, take your pick).
Never mind that! This is a long-awaited video of Bear's shampoo and deep condition routine. I was actually requested this video a while ago but I could never
