So, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a hair care review and now that summer is rapidly approaching (even though the weather is a bit of schizophrenic), now is the time to shine. I’m going to review a variety of hair care products. While it’ll be for everyone, my main focus will be for those with Type 3 and Type 4 hair.

Are you ready? LFG!

I love Marshall’s. It’s my favorite store for discounted hair products, outside of Amazon. Sometimes I have to spend a hot minute inside of Marshall’s to get the full experience, but once I do, I usually walk out with something!

So, I found It’s a 10 coily hair cream. It normally retails for about $20 and I got it for $10 at Marshall’s. I know, right? A total steal!

It comes out pretty smoothly, and while it is thick, it’s not so thick where I’m struggling with the bottle. My only caveat it is a small bottle, so if you use a lot of cream, you might end up paying for this more frequently than you think. For $10/bottle, it might not be too much for your budget. However, for the actual retail price, it might make you think about it.

It smells very pleasant, which is good. It doesn’t smell like food, which I’m glad. It doesn’t leave a sticky residue or flakes, which makes me very happy. I primarily use this for Bear’s hair since he has super curly hair and it gives his curls some bounce after a few days of washing.

Routine:

I wash Bear’s hair with a clarifying shampoo and detangle his hair with a conditioner. After rinse off, I towel-dry his hair and put on the cream. Very, very simple. I do this about twice a week.

So, what are the pros? Let’s go!

PROS:

  • Depending on where you buy it, it’s affordable.
  • No funny smell; very pleasant.
  • No flakes or residue.
  • Easy to dispense.
  • Doesn’t leave your hands greasy or sticky.

Now, that’s all good but what are the cons?

CONS:

  • It could be expensive if you buy multiple bottles in a month, depending on where you buy it from.
  • You might need to use quite a bit depending on how much hair you have.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

I do recommend this. It might be a splurge for some, and it might be affordable for others. But it made Bear’s hair shine with some bounce. I highly recommend it!
