5 Authentic Palestinian/Gaza Charities to Support

Before I begin this post, let me start off by saying I support the children in Gaza. I also believe that if you support Palestine and the Gaza Strip, it doesn’t mean you’re anti-semitic nor are you anti-Israel. This post is mainly to support those who need it the most in the Gaza Strip.

I have my rather controversial views on the recent college campus protests happening here in the US. While I do support free speech, I also have to question what exactly is camping out on a college campus really going to do for people who live in tents in Gaza? To me, it doesn’t make sense but I digress.

There are several authentic charities you can donate to and I have some listed here. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Gaza Emergency Fund

Any money provided will be used to:

  • Distribute directly to families in need
  • Obtain emergency supplies and deliver them to families
  • Pay for contractors to build waterproof and weather proof tents for the refugee camps needed for the nearly 2 million displaced Gazans
  • Build portable bathrooms for the refugee camps

All the money is sent directly to Palestinian colleagues and friends of mine in Palestine, who make the decision of how to use the money. These are the most heroic people I know and I would trust them with my life (and have done in the past, when I’ve been in Gaza during previous Israeli bombing campaigns). This is an entirely grassroots, volunteer mutual aid campaign, developed by Palestinians for Palestinians.

United Palestinian Appeal

United Palestinian Appeal empowers Palestinians to improve their lives and communities through socially responsible and sustainable programs in health, education, and community and economic development.

Anera

Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Lebanon and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate emergency relief and for sustainable, long-term healtheducation, and economic development. Our staff serve in their communities, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most.

That’s how Anera received more than $171 million in support of programs in 2023 alone, and it’s how we will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.

Lash Extensions in Minutes!

American Friends Service Committee

AFSC works with communities worldwide to challenge injustice and build conditions for lasting peace. We are steadfast in our commitment to nonviolence and our belief in the transformative power of love to overcome conflict and oppression.

Sunbula

Founded 1988

During the first Palestinian Intifada, Carol Morton, the wife of the late Rev. Colin Morton of the St. Andrews Scottish Church in Jerusalem, began a small project called Craftaid. From a modest craft shop in St. Andrews Guest House, it grew to become Sunbula in 1996.

A Jerusalem-based non-profit fair trade organization, Sunbula is a platform that empowers marginalized communities in Palestine through traditional artisanal crafts.

That is all for now! I hope you visit these links and choose a charity you would like to support. Again, I’m only listing authentic and verifiable charities.
