This is a letter I wrote to my son after the baby shower last Sunday.
Dear Yoda,
Today was a big day. We had a baby shower in your honor. I finally revealed that I’m pregnant with you and received a lot of support and overwhelming love. I spoke of your brother and you. I decided that I really liked the name, Bogdan, and that will probably be your name when you’re born. You can thank your Daddy; he picked out that name for you.
You have given me and your Daddy a lot of hope and strength these past several months. It’s been hard and very, very challenging. But I know it’ll be all worth it once I see your sweet face in a few weeks. We love you so much already and we can’t wait to see you, hold you, change your diaper, play with you, take walks with you, and mold you into the man we think you will be.
I know your big brother is smiling down and I hope he’s proud of all of us. We miss Ethan very much and can’t wait to see him again on the other side. You would’ve loved your big brother. He looked like me but you two had the same personality. You both like a lot of healthy foods. You both dance to jazzy-type music. And you both move around a lot. You both are very loved.
I’m nervous about becoming your Mommy. I’m afraid I won’t know what to do or how to do it. But I’m hoping you’ll be patient with me and show me the way to go. Did you like that Michael Jackson reference? Both you and Ethan listened to a lot of MJ. You also liked Bob Marley.
I love you very much, my sweet Bogdan, my Yoda bear, my Danny. That’s your nickname from me. I can’t wait to meet you in a few weeks!
Love,
Mommy
