I’m Lovin’ It – Yoda is Half-Baked!

I’m at the point where I’m halfway through my pregnancy. I hit the halfway mark two weeks ago, since it’s already decided that I’ll get my stitches out at 36 weeks. This milestone is still a huge achievement, though. The next big milestone will be in 17 days, when I surpass the loss milestone with Ethan and then at the end of the month when I reach viability (24 weeks).

I had an appointment with my MFM on Friday and I’m still measuring ahead, way ahead actually (two weeks ahead). My cerclage is holding fine and so is my cervix. I’ll be getting my progesterone shots soon and yech…I hate needles (hence why I only have two tattoos instead of any more) and I haven’t heard too many pleasant things about the progesterone. But I know it’s a necessary evil. The shots will help prevent preterm labor and that’s really the important part. So the cerclage + progesterone shots = a fully-baked Yoda come November.

So let’s see how Yoda is doing now…

According to babygaga.com:

This week you’re carrying around 10.5 inches and 10.5 ounces of solid magical baby goodness!

Your fantastic fetus’ fragile tiny bones continue to ossify and toughen while their itsy bitsy finger and toe pads (and unique finger prints) are finishing up.

Your little womb-dancer also has teeth buds sprouting beneath their gum line.

And finally! Your wee one’s limbs have reached their relative proportions — no more bobble-head!

Their little pink lips are more defined, and might be helping out in a bit of prenatal thumb-sucking.

If you have a little boy: their tiny testes are descending, though they have not yet passed the abdominal wall.

And in a final anti-alien development: the first of their tiny eyelashes and eyebrows are now present.

Essentially, your little one really does looks like a miniature baby — and we do mean miniature – your little swimmer currently weighs a mere eighth of their birth weight.

Good work mama! You’re bakin’ a beautiful baby and you’re already half-done!

And what size is Yoda this week?
