My Kid is Starting to Potty Train and I Can't Deal

So, for the past year or so, we've been trying to get Bear to potty train. After putting him in school, his teachers revealed to us that he'll do it when he's ready and we can't force it. So we didn't. We bought special potty training books, a potty that's currently collecting dust and might be given away when we do donations this weekend, and a special toilet seat. Potty

Bear Turns 3!

It's been an incredible three years. It's been a challenging three years. But I'm blessed everyday. When he was born, it felt like I won the lottery and I still feel the same. Without further ado, I present Bear's greatest hits over the past three years. Enjoy!   [gallery ids="5852,5853,5854,5855,5856,5857,5858,5859,5860,5861,5862,5863,5864,5865,5866,5867,5868,5869" type="slideshow"]

Our trip to Skyspace!

Over the weekend (and as part of my birthday celebration), we all went to Skyspace. It's a new hip viewing place in DTLA. It's also the place that boasts the clear glass slide. I didn't go on the slide (because I'm terrified of heights) but after seeing several people do it, I'm determined to do it next time. YOLO, right? Here are pics from our adventures! Kids under 3 are free.

#ThrowbackThursday: Bear and his ride

We bought this trike for him when he turned one and he hasn't spent much time in it because he drags his feet whenever we stroll him. Hopefully, we can teach him how to pedal (we've tried in the past) and it'll be easier for us to push him!

Ahh…fudge: An Exploration in Dirty Words and Toddlers

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJMZDBEL8Tg&w=560&h=315] This weekend, Bear learned a new word. Except it wasn't fudge. It was thee word. The F-dash-dash-dash. I wasn't around when he said it. In fact, I was only a few feet away. He said it front of our close friends and Maks. When they told me he said it, I was a little shocked. You see, despite the use of profanity on here, we really don't speak that much of it

We Officially Have a Preschooler!

This week kicks off Bear entering school. He only goes to school Tuesdays and Thursdays for the time being but we hope to take him five days a week soon. Here are pics from the first day: [gallery ids="4509,4510,4511,4512" type="rectangular"] After I picked him up yesterday, we celebrated by going to the park and getting an ice cream bar: [gallery ids="4513,4514" type="rectangular"] How exciting!! Grown up so fast!!

Why Does This Boy Need So Many Clothes Now?

I'm forever buying Bear clothing. It seems just when I think I'm good for a while (read: a couple of months), it's like, 'Nah, bihhh....you take your ass to Target.' Except it wasn't Target calling me but rather, a different store. As we explored the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza over the weekend, I noticed a great deal at Children's Place. Now, it's not a store I frequent very often. Let me
