So, here’s the deal: Everybody and they mama is broke this year.

If it’s not inflation, it’s lack of job opportunities. And with a combination of both, not a lot of people have money this year.

With Hanukkah wrapping up, and Christmas just around the corner, this post may be a little too late for some people. But for a lot who still want a festive season without breaking the bank, here are some ways to do so.

Are you ready? Here we go!

Now is a good time to shop deals on decor, lights, and candy.

Seriously. Many stores have already started prepping for Valentine’s Day, so they are super eager to get rid of Christmas stuff. That means you’re going to find deals upwards to 75% off right now at just about every store.

The downside is that there might be some slim pickings in choices, so either some stuff is going to be left at the store or you’ll have to find some creative ways to use what you have. But don’t let that stop you. You might find a creative use for a sparkly garland you didn’t think you would!

You can get a lot of great gifts for under $25.

Don’t feel you have to break the bank to get something for your special someone. Many stores are offering a lot of great deals right now and are trying to get that inventory out ASAP. Constantly check out Bath and Body Works, Amazon, Walmart, and Target.

And don’t forget bargain stores like Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, and Home Goods!

Create a gift basket.

Creating gift baskets is an in-thing (and if I want to get it real, it’s been an in-thing for some time now). Buy a basket, add a bunch of random things in it, and gift it to your loved one. You know how you can create a gift basket for Easter? Why not apply that same logic to Christmas?

And to help you, I actually created a Pinterest page just for this. Take a look!

Bake something. People generally love food.

So, you don’t like what the stores have to offer. And you’re not really into making gift baskets. And you don’t feel like going out to different stores for cheaper gifts. What’s the next option? Cooking and baking!

Tis the season to be fat and happy, so why not cook and bake something? There is always someone who is willing to eat whatever. Break out that old cookbook or go online and find recipes. This is not the time to be experimental with food, if I’m going to keep it buck.

Do something nice and simple, if you’re inexperienced. Do something more creative, if you are more experienced. And with grocery prices nowadays, you just might have found your Christmas budget.

Donate Time.

There are many places around who need extra hands and extra help. Check your local Facebook group, Nextdoor, Reddit, or ask around town. There is some place that will always need help!

Selling your old items online.

If you have something that is still in relatively good condition, try eBay or some other online consignment stores. You’ll make a little pocket change and clean out your home at the same time. Win-win for everyone!

And with that, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season! Please leave some cookies out for Santa!
