Bear’s first week of school!

It’s so weird to see so many schools do online learning. In all my years, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen such a large amount. Then again, I also never experienced a pandemic as well.

Bear’s school started online learning this year. The hope is for the school to go a hybrid model after Christmas break. Here’s hoping our rates stay low where that’s a possibility.

We went to pick up Bear’s materials (he already had his notebook from last year), and we were blown away! Bear goes to an arts school so they sent home a lot of things for him to do!

I know, right??? So generous of the school!

It comes with paints, pencils, crayons, glue, and notebooks.

He also has an assignment book to go along with his chromebook:

Bear has his own desk set up underneath the bed:

The red caddy is from Michael’s but I also saw another one you can get from Target.

The small green fan is also from Target. You can purchase it here.

The yellow lamp is from IKEA. You can purchase it here.

I’m in the process of doing a YouTube video documenting the process and Bear’s feelings on the matter. But here is the obligatory first day of school photo.

Bear is getting the hang of online learning. He’s in school from 8-10 on Mondays and 8 – 12:55 Tuesday-Friday. He doesn’t have homework but we do pull out the workbooks for him to do in addition to his learning. He likes learning Spanish and typing. Yes, typing.

It’s been a bit of a challenge but Bear is taking it in stride. How was your first week of school?
