Since the shutdown, we’ve become quite creative in the crafts department. One, I need to get rid of all these crafty things I currently have. Two, I also need to weed Bear off his iPad addiction (partially my fault and partially there’s nothing to do to occupy his time fault).

So, we’ve been crafting. A while ago, we decided to make watermelon fans. Originally these were supposed to be cut in half with the popsicle sticks to be fan holders. Personally, I don’t think we actually needed the popsicle sticks and the fans work fine just as they were.

Materials:

  • White paper plates.
  • Paint – pink, green, and black.
  • Popsicles (optional)
  • Scissors (optional)
  • Glue (optional)
  • Newspaper to cover the table/work area.

Directions:

  • Paint the outer paper plate in green.
  • Paint the inner circle in pink.
  • Paint black dots (to resemble seeds).
  • Dry.
  • Optional: Cut the paper plates in half. Glue popsicle sticks.
