Bear has a lot of artwork. I love his creativity and he often creates pieces at home. But I only have so much room on my refrigerator.

While we have thrown out some of Bear’s artwork (with his permission, of course), he wants to keep a good chunk of it. We have a small home so we only have so many walls before space becomes an issue.

It was time to get creative.

Here are seven different ways I displayed Bear’s artwork in our home and I hope this helps you as well.

Creative frames.

I love IKEA for this reason. They actually have a section where you can purchase frames for your child to display their artwork. I chose a couple for that purpose and even have one to showcase below:

What I love about this frame is there was enough room for a picture of Bear doing his activity, so this would be a great memory for us to have for years to come. It’s already one of his favorite frames.

Art on Canvas.

Bear is quite the painter and artist. At his old preschool, they used canvas to do a painting acitivy and we loved it so much, it’s hanging in our living room.

Hanging the artwork in other areas in the home.

My kitchen is very white. White cabinets. White sink (well, this is a great thing, honestly). White everything. I often ask him if I can put something up on the wall and he enthustically agrees. He knows it’s his artwork and it build up his self-esteem.

Create an art book.

Sometimes, Bear’s artwork is too much for us to keep switching out. He has an art book he often uses and works out of it. So easy – just flip a page and start creating! How simple is that?

Decorating his room.

Bear loves his room simply because it’s his. He doesn’t have to share (yet) and it’s his own personal sanctuary. One way of making sure he knows it’s his room is by identifying it with his artwork.

Not only do we have his old artwork, but also family pictures we’ve printed out.

Hanging frames.

I’m eager to try this idea and on my Pinterest Home Decor board, I’ve been gathering ideas. I don’t want a whole lot of holes in the walls, but I do need something to do with all of this artwork. We’ll see!

A miniature gallery.

This is another brilliant idea, and we have something in the works in Bear’s room already. We hope to use the chalkboard posters to put some other artwork on there as a backup.

How do you manage your child’s artwork without taking up your refrigerator space?
