So, I’ve followed Koils by Nature for a while on IG before I actually purchased from them. I was in the market to look for a summer butter and I wanted to try something different. I didn’t have to look too far as I remembered Koils.
Founded by owner Pamela J. Booker, Koils specializes in hair and body products and are vegan! How about that?
I heard rave reviews about the Sweet Almond brand so I decided to pick this up. Although I could use it on my hair (it’s in braids now so I don’t know how useful my post would be), I did try it on my body so this is what the review will be on.
First, it smells heavenly! It’s definitely sweet but not overpowering. You will briefly smell it throughout the day but it won’t nauseate you.
It’s so light, it practically disappears when you glide it on. I kid you not, this is magical in a bottle.
And of course, here are the ingredients:
Ingredients: Buttrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Garcinia Indica Seed (Kokum Butter), Mangifera Indica (Mango Seed Butter), Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Cocos Nucifera {Coconut} Oil / Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Butter), Avocado Oil (Avocado Oil), Prinus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Seed Oil), Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed Oil), Olea Europaea (Olive Oil), Ricinus Communis (Jamaican Black Castor Seed Oil), Fragrant Oil
Now that you’ve played the game, how is it scored?
Pros:
- Black-owned.
- Very light.
- Moisturizes all day.
- Has numerous oils that have huge benefits.
Cons:
- It might be pricey for some (with tax, I paid close to $25).
- The Sweet Almond brand might be too sweet, though there are other butters, including an unscented one.
- It’s primarily online so no brick and mortar shops yet.
In conclusion, I do recommend it! It’s definitely worth the splurge!
