This past Saturday marked Bear's 2nd birthday. We decided to do something small because he's just turning 2. Nothing against those who do big parties for their toddlers, but we'll probably start doing those once he's in preschool/child care so he has more friends of his age to play with.
In surprising news, my racist-in-denial in-laws decided they actually want to be grandparents for a change. Yeah, you read that

I'm starting to get the hang of this whole vlog thing.
Anyhoo, I reviewed the Kinky Curly detangling cream. I actually use it for my hair and I really liked it so I tried it on Bo's hair.

IMHO, I think the Cantu actually worked better. Not sure because it's actually designed for kids as oppose to Kinky Curly which is designed for everyone.
I also purposely kept this video instead

Nothing new to update here.
Today, I'm 12 DPO and I did test this morning. BFN. Honestly, I'm not that bummed about it. This past month was really shot because of the heat wave and our timing wasn't great. It wasn't like Cycle #2 where we really tried and still failed (that feeling really sucks, btw). So I'm hoping Cycle #4 is our lucky one. I've slacked on my daily walks so
Okay, so I'm posting a Russian Soul Sunday recipe on a Monday; forgive me. It was my birthday weekend and it was super fun! More on that later. Here is the recipe I'd used.
I should've taken pictures of it but take my word on it, it was great! I added sausage and potato to make it more filling. I usually add a side of hot water cornbread but I

Raising a bilingual child is well...a lot harder than it should be.
From the get-go, M. and I have always determined that our children will be bilingual in Russian and English. He would speak primarily Russian and I would speak primarily English (though I am actively learning Russian and try to speak a little of it every day). With Yoda not quite talking yet (though I'm told it's nothing
(I'll get back to using song titles as my blog posts in a short while, but the last few posts were exceptions...)
I'm Black. I have two Black parents. On my father's side, I had a great-grandmother who was half-White and half-Indian. I know this because I met her at the tender age of five and my first thought was, 'Who is this white lady?'. Over the years, I've had
I figured since the last post was a little heavy, here's some lighter news. I'm sure this is the only reason why some of you come on here and honestly, I can't blame you. I have no qualms with my kid (or The Kid) being more popular than me.
The first two pics were taken during the July 4th festivities in Downtown L.A. The last one was taken I think

Not all solids are created equal. In fact, some of them can be quite fucking disgusting.
Now, I normally try to scale back on the profanity for the sake this is a mommy blog (okay, I was totally kidding when I just said that), but really...there is no other description for some solids.
You see, originally I was going to make baby food and I did attempt once by giving Yoda

Lately, we've been starting solid foods on Bo. It's been a touch and go, as expected. Some solids, he's gung-ho for like rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and pears. Some solid foods are so far a definite 'hell, no' like apples, oatmeal, any finger foods.
Today, I went grocery shopping and I picked up about 15 jars of solid foods for Bo to eat and some to try. I even picked up
