I love children’s books from Black authors because I feel they’re more catered to us and plus, I’m all about representation. It seems there are more books out than ever and I’m so jazzed about sharing them, along with some personal favorites!

This is highly recommended by teachers on Amazon (and y’all, that’s huge! Don’t discount teachers now!)

This book breaks down history in a fun, informative, and sometimes sad way of teaching the babies. From Muhammad Ali to DJ Kool Herc, this is a must-pick up for your babies.

I Promise
Co-authored by superstar LeBron James, this book teaches kids to make promises to themselves to do better and challenge themselves to greatness. This is also a book I can personally recommend since I bought a copy for Bear a couple years ago and read it to him regularly.

The Snowy Day (my personal pick!)
I loved this book as a child and I was so jazzed to read it to Bear when he was smaller! It’s about a little boy who discovers the wonders of snow and all the wonderful things he can do. I simply cannot tell you how much I love this book!

Dream Big, Little One
This book teaches children about the 18 Black women who have made trailblazing history in the United States. From astronaut Mae Jamison to Civil Rights icon Rosa Parks, there are so many inspiring women for everyone to learn!
