So, I’ve been a fan of the laundry beads since they’ve come on the market. I have my personal favorite of Downey Unstoppables but I have to admit some of the other ones are pretty good as well.

Even though they can be a bit pricey, I also feel the payoff is worth it: your clothes smell a lot better and fresher. There’s also another benefit: using those beads for other uses around the home.

As I mentioned before, I have three cats – Sushi, Smokee, and Buddy. Needless to say with three cats and a small child, I have to keep a very clean house. I also make extra sure my home smells nothing like one cat, let alone three.

Let’s get into the creative ways you can use the laundry beads besides laundry! Let’s go!

  1. Deodorizing your pet litter. I put this number one for a reason. Adding a few beads to your pet’s litter will freshen it and the home. And no, you don’t have to worry about the beads being stuck to your pet’s paws or them accidentally swallowing it.
  1. Creating your own air freshener.  Sprinkle some beads in a plastic spray bottle and fill it with water. Over time, the beads will melt and it’ll be a pleasant spray each use!
  1. Creating a satchel. Sprinkle some laundry beads in a mesh satchel and put it in your drawers. It’ll be a fresh scent every time!
  1. Car air freshener. Using one of the satchels above, place one in your car for a fresh scent!
  1. Freshen your garbage. Sprinkle some beads at the bottom of your garbage when it’s empty. It’ll capture odors before they have a chance to be released into the garbage.
  1. Freshen your garbage disposal. Sprinkle some beads in your garbage disposal when it’s empty. Every time the water runs, it’ll release a pleasant scent.
  1. Fresh-smelling carpets. Sprinkle some beads on the floor or even in a baking soda mix and vacuum your carpets. They’ll smell so fresh and so great!
  1. Fresher shoes. We all know with great wear of shoes, also means smelly ones at the same time. Put some beads in shoes and let them set overnight. Empty them out the next morning before you wear.
  1. Wax melt. If you have a wax burner at home, sprinkle some beads into the burner and fill it with water as you light a candle for the bottom half. Over the next few minutes, the beads will melt and the area will be so great to smell!
  1. Giving yourself a pedicure! I’ve tried this one and let me tell you, hunty, my feet were so soft and smelled wonderful! I highly recommend using this as you do a foot soak!

What are the unique ways you use the laundry beads?
