My Life as a Working From Home Mother

A question I get asked a lot is what my typical day looks like. A lot of people know I’m blogger, but very few also know I’m bestselling romance author. Yes, I don’t talk about that part of my life because I try very hard to keep both my Mommy persona and my writer persona different from each other.

Besides the fact that I do write books and I blog annnnnnnd I’m a stay at-home mother, I still get the one question from everyone:

What do you do all day?

Well, a lot.

It’s easier for me to break this post down by hour since that’s how I schedule my time. Let’s gooooooooo!

6:30 AM:

My day typically starts at 6:30 AM. I wake up (or at least attempt to before the snooze alarm goes off). I spend a little quiet time checking various accounts, going on social media, and having a little bit of time to myself.

7:00 AM:

I wake up Bear, let the cats out, and usually wake up Maks, if he isn’t up. Coffee is on, Bear is getting ready for school, and it’s go time!

7:30 AM:

Bear and I are out the door by the time (usually earlier or later, but this is the ideal time we try to get out).

7:40-45:

Drop Bear off at school. I personally walk him up to the doors so I know he goes inside. We talk about all sorts of things (usually stuff he’s watched and he has questions about), and I wish him a good day.

8:00 AM:

Arrive back home and have breakfast. I’ll usually get Maks’s bento box ready as he gets ready for work.

8:30 AM:

Maks leaves and I relax for a bit. Second half-hour break of the day.

9:00 AM:

Cleaning. Floors, laundry, bathroom, whatever needs to be cleaned gets cleaned.

10:00 AM:

Writing. Creating blog posts or working on my novels.

11:00 AM:

Learning Ukrainian. It takes roughly an hour. I use Duolingo.

12:00 PM

Lunch break, but I usually work through it.

1:00 PM:

More writing. Writing, writing, writing.

2:00 PM:

Yoga. If not yoga, another small break.

3:00 PM:

Planning out dinner and doing any last-minute cleaning.

4:00 PM:

Late grocery store run for dinner or my all-time favorite Target runs.

5:00 -6:00 PM:

Pick up Bear from his after-school program.

6:00 PM:

Relax for a bit. 3rd break for the day.

6:30 PM:

Start dinner.

7:00 PM:

Help Bear with his homework.

7:30 PM:

Dinner is served.

8:00 PM:

Clean up the kitchen and do my meditation app. I use MyLife.

8:30 PM:

Maks arrives home and I serve him his plate.

9:00 PM:

Get Bear ready for bed and read to him.

10:00 PM:

Talk to Maks about his day and just play catch up because I haven’t seen my husband all day!

11:00 PM:

Bed.

Now, this is a typical day. This doesn’t take into account if I want to get my hair did, doing a Costco run, or make a spontaneous mall trip.

So yeah, when I say I’m busy…well, I mean it!
