So, a funny thing happened the other day.

I decided to make pasta for dinner and I was on the hunt for garlic bread. I went to one store and they were sold out. So, I went to another store. No luck there.

I wasn’t about to try my luck at a third store. I remembered an old trick a friend’s mother used to do when she didn’t have garlic bread but she had those crescent rolls you buy in the refigerated section.

When life hands you crescent rolls, you make garlic bread.

  • 1 tube (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Separate crescent dough into eight triangles. Roll up from the wide end and place point side down 2 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Curve ends to form a crescent.
  • Combine butter, garlic powder and oregano; brush over rolls. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake until golden brown, 10-12 minutes. Serve warm.

I should not these do last pretty well overnight. If you’re going to warm them up again, no more than 10 seconds in the microwave.

Have you made a spontaneous grocery store decision? How did it turn out??
