So, great news! Big news!
Your girl is going to be at the Mixed Remixed Festival, speaking on a panel regarding Parenting with Difference: Multiracial and Families of Transracial Adoption in Conversation. Isn't that neat? I'm so looking forward to it!
Yeah, I'm that excited!
If you're in the L.A area around June 10-11, come join us at the Mixed Remixed Festival. I'll be speaking on the 11th and Maks and Bear will be there

A few weeks ago, we took a long-awaited trip to see the space shuttle Endeavor at the California Science Center. Can I tell you how wonderfully awesome it is in person?
Growing up, I remember hearing about the space explorations all of the time. I also remember one quite unfortunate moment (which I'll explain later), but I remember being in awe of it all. I credit my husband for bringing out my

Have a child, they said.
It'll be a beautiful experience, they said.
Oh, you'll get some opposition from family members about you teaching your child another language...
Wait, what?
I'm not a native Russian speaker. In fact, I know very little Russian though my vocabulary is growing by the week. Before I was pregnant, Maks and I decided to have our children would be bilingual. I would teach them English while he'll
There's no #RussianSoulSunday post...at least not yet. But here are a couple of pictures of Bear on Valentine's these past couple of years.
This was his R&B cover smooooooooth look. 'Hey Ladies....'
We were at an event for our local library and we made a heart. I'm wearing a necklace made of Fruit Loops and paper hearts.
This was taken yesterday at a local New Orleans restaurant in Chinatown. Seriously, there is

Before I dive more into this topic, I need to disclose a few things. While I have a broad view of the world and what things that occur, I also have a narrow view of it at times (which I feel most people have). That being said, I have to share some things.
Last year, I think by accident really, I was introduced to the Mixed Remixed Festival. It's

I have to admit...learning another language when you're an adult is quite tough.
But I have to keep going. It's fun while I'm trying to teach Bear a new language (don't worry, Maks is speaking fluent Russian and Ukrainian to Bear) and learn more of it myself so I can speak fluent Russian to Bear at home.
So, here's a video of us teaching you how to count numbers in Russian:

Here are some photos from Bear from the past year. Gosh, it's so crazy these photos were actually taken around this time last year!

As you may have noticed in one picture, there's a sidecar next to our bed. I'll share our adventures in co-sleeping in a future blog post coming soon. No, we're not doing it intentionally but it's not too bad.
We actually had a really good holiday over here. We celebrated both St. Nick's (an Ukrainian holiday) and Christmas. For the first time, I'm going to start celebrating Kwanzaa.
Now before any of you give me the proverbial side eye, I need to explain. Growing up, my parents never celebrated Kwanzaa. In fact, they'd never mentioned it. I didn't learn about it until I was in high school. Over the
From last year.
We often go several different parks in the area, though Bear has an obvious favorite park. Here are some pictures from our adventures in Grand Park last year during the winter time. Yeah, it was that warm enough where we could take Bo to the water park. I want to say it was sometime in December, given the NYE poster behind him.

Over the weekend, Bear and I went on a day trip to Palm Springs to see the Festival of Lights parade. It was Bear's first time seeing it and he loved it!
Here are a couple of pics -

On the left is my mom and I, and of course the second pic is Bear and me.
Here's the youtube adventures. Again, nothing too exciting but I just wanted to
