Sometimes I buy cornstarch and wonder why would I need all of this? It's usually a lot in a container and sometimes it can last forever. I finally figured out other than the occasional cooking ideas, it'll make a great easy activity for kids.
This is mainly geared to preschoolers, but my almost-7-year-old really loved this as well! So, I can say this is for kids 3-10.

Over the past week, we decided to paint planters.
I've really taken up gardening as a great hobby. And there is nothing like growing and eating your own food. And since you take care of it, you know it's organic, which is the best ever!
I wanted to spice up our garden a bit so we all did an activity where we each painted a planter.

With COVID-19 forcing many parents to become homeschoolers, I have gathered some helpful apps to keep you all sane during the closures.
Stop, Breathe, and Think Kids
I spoke about this app before in managing Bear's anxiety. There is also an adult version! I meditate every night and trust me, it's helped managed my anxiety a lot!
Scholastic Learn At Home
I have fond memories of Scholastic (particularly Highlights) and I'm
Okay, probably not perfect, but good enough.
Last week, I took Bear to see Sonic along with one of his friends from school (and his mother). We first sat in the back because I felt it was a easier exit, but we ended up moving closer to the front so the kids could see better. (Note for next time.)
It's been a while since we've gone to the movies (last
Bear and I love doing science experiments at home. One, it's hands-on and it's super fun (okay, that's two), but also, a lot of the ingredients and materials we use are SUPER CHEAP.
That being said, let me introduce you to the Elephant Toothpaste Experiment.
Here are the instructions courtesy of ScienceBob:
A clean 16 ounce (473 ml) plastic soda bottle or a water bottle.20-Volume hydrogen peroxide liquid (20-volume
Bear loves reading and he loves to read about kids that kinda look like him. It is so important for diversity in children's books. As a child, I grew up on Ezra Jack Keats and it's stayed with me until adulthood. I hope to pass that same tradition to Bear.
Here are my recommendations for the best multicultural books for this fall. Ready? Let's go!

Bear loves his tablet. He actually has two, but we'll get into the why of that in another post. If he could (and he has), he would spend all day on it.
But as much educational apps I can put on his tablet, sometimes he needs to do things that are tablet-free. Or what I like to call, old school.
Here are 10 After-School Actitivities that are fun and
Now, we're not a vegan family, though we do often eat vegan food. Bear has gotten on board with it - a little. While I'm trying to get him away from so much dairy, I'm also not pressuring him to go vegan. I figure that's a choice he can make when he gets older.
Nevertheless, since Bear has been in school, I have been trying to give him healthy
I decided to be gender-inclusive with this post because I didn't want any dates to strictly be for boys or strictly be for girls. What if someone has twins or two young children of opposite genders?
So, here are my 20 (pretty awesome, I may add) ideas to have a date with your kid. Pics included.

What a relaxing way to get away from life's troubles just for a few
Bear has a lot of artwork. I love his creativity and he often creates pieces at home. But I only have so much room on my refrigerator.
While we have thrown out some of Bear's artwork (with his permission, of course), he wants to keep a good chunk of it. We have a small home so we only have so many walls before space becomes an issue.
