He’s got 99 problems but liquor’s not one.
From rapper and business conglomerate, Jay-Z, comes a cognac that is guaranteed to be ranked with Courvoisier, Remy Martin, and others.
If you want to try a different cognac but don’t have a lot of money to spend (and let’s face it, we all don’t have a lot of money to spend nowadays!), here is a good long-lasting cognac that will satisfy your taste buds and not break your bank!
But what is a D’USSE? Well, let’s take a gander, shall we?
From their website:
The bold, yet remarkably smooth character of D’USSÉ Cognac was founded by Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter and conceived by the senior-most cellar master working today, Michel Casavecchia. One of the world’s greatest authorities on Cognac, he has been curating spirits for more than 20 years at the prestigious Château de Cognac. This 200-year-old venue — one of the oldest Cognac houses in France — is where Casavecchia created D’USSÉ.
Not bad!

The one thing I love about D’usse is that it’s surprisingly affordable – a small bottle will run you less than $25. It’s available at Total Wine and More and also at BevMo! The biggest bottle I’ve seen was around $150 (750 ML).
While I’m not a big cognac drinker, my husband is and I did ask him for his honest review of D’Usse. He stated it was very good, with an excellent taste. It wasn’t too sweet or too rough; it was very well-balanced. It was strong but not in your face strong.
Overall, this is definitely a 5-star liquor review. It’s perfect for an after-dinner drink. While I’ve heard it can blend well with ginger ale, and tonic water, I think D’Usse is too good of a cognac to be watered down.
If you’ve tried D’Usse, what did you think? Sound off in the comments! 🙂
