Happy International Women’s Day!
To celebrate the best and most courageous women out there, I’m recommending these autobiographies. These are all books I have personally read, devoured, and went back for a second helping.
All of these women have gone through it and have come out on the other side shining bright like a diamond. Are you ready? LFG!
Becoming by Michelle Obama
I think I re-read this book about once a year. It’s a super inspirational story from the former first Black First Lady of the United States. You will fell enlightened, inspired, and ready to conquer the world.
The Meaning of Mariah Carey
One of my all-time favorite singers released an autobiography a few years back that detailed her painful upbringing, her tumutulous marriage, and how she perfected being the Comeback kid. While Mariah is known for being a diva, she comes off as very humble in her book.
Open Book by Jessica Simpson
Singer and Fashion Mogul Jessica Simpson details her upbringing, her former marriage to 98 Degrees lead singer, Nick Lachey, how Newlyweds changed her life, and her tumultuous divorce from Nick. It’s an inspiring story about how Jessica struggled with her private life despite being in the very public eye.
My Own Words by Ruth Bader Ginsberg
The late Supreme Court justice had a series of interviews where she spoke about being Jewish, the intermakings of the Supreme Court, and what she hope to still accomplish before she passed. While I’m still a little so-so on the Notorious RBG, she was that woman and she’d done a lot for women’s rights.
Diana: Her True Story – in Her Own Words
I’m going to admit – I’m not a fan of the British Royal Family. I’ll be completely honest – I don’t care for any of them. I don’t have hate; I really, truly just don’t care. But I was always fascinated about Princess Diana and going through a rewatch of The Crown just made what she went through even more tragic. She blew the lid of the monarchy before Megan Markle was even an afterthought. This is a must-read.
