Let me preface this – while the main characters are gay, this is not a gay film. This is a film that anyone can relate to no matter if you’re an ally or a member of the LGBTQ+.

Daniel Levy (“Schitt’s Creek”) wrote, directed, and starred in this film about a man who is trying to navigate life after suddenly losing his husband. As he tries to figure out who he is again, he makes some unpleasant discoveries but also some really amazing ones.

Why You Should Watch: If you love romantic comedies, you’ll love this one. There is a twinge of sadness, but there’s more romance and sappiness to make up for it.

What You Won’t Like About it: It might too heavy for some. The main themes are infidelity, loss, isolation, and grief.

Where Can You Watch It: On Netflix!

My Opinion: I think it’s a story about love, life, and loss. It’s very refreshing to see gay stories on the screen that aren’t stereotypical and actually deal with real issues that straight couples also go through. The supporting cast – Ruth Negga, and Himesh Patel – are amazing and are scene-stealers every time they appear.
