I’m a member of Reddit. After toying around with Space Karen (aka Elon Musk), I decided I needed a better social media space to be fun and free. While Reddit has its share of AITA posts (and believe me, they are the assholes in some of them!), a lot of subreddits have been very useful.
I’m a part of the Cleaning Tips subreddit and I’ve been getting my life through that! Let me tell you, chile, my house is a whoooooooooole lot cleaner and in half the time nowadays. Someone asked a question about how to get the dirt and grime off a skillet (specifically the back of it, on the outside), and someone responded by using the Pink Stuff.
Pink Stuff?
Now, I’m only on social media a little so I wasn’t aware of the hype of the Pink Stuff. It’s really good to get out all the grime and yuckiness but also, it’s not comprised of harsh chemicals.
I decided to try it out on the one place that gets a lot of traffic – my kitchen sink.
I cook a lot, which means I clean a lot. And I don’t have a dishwasher so a lot of doing the dishes goes on in our house. Which also means, my sink gets dirty a lot.

Considering how much I cook, it looks pretty good. However, it’s a potential breeding ground for a lot more yuckiness, and I really can’t stand a messy kitchen.

Let’s see what this can do.
Pink Stuff is a paste so I’ll need to scoop some out before I can use it. A little goes a long way, so you don’t need to use that much.

I had to use some elbow grease so it wasn’t simple as just putting it on and letting it sit and it magically cleans. I will say, it’s not as harsh as the other products I’ve used and my sink was amazingly clean!

Not too bad, huh? And my entire kitchen didn’t smell like bleach! Mind you, I also didn’t have any food or other perishables out (and I typically don’t when I clean the kitchen) but hey, this isn’t too bad!
So let’s be honest about this….would I recommend it?
Pros:
It’s very cheap! Like I got this for $5.
You can find it pretty much anywhere. Even Amazon:
There isn’t a lot of harsh chemicals and it cleans very well.
But with some pros, there are some cons:
You have to use some elbow grease and probably more than you intended. It’s often lauded as a miracle paste, but it really isn’t.
You may not be wowed by it. I wasn’t.
There are some things they recommend you don’t use it to clean, mainly glass. I wouldn’t recommend this to clean the microwave.
My conclusion?
It’s not wrong to keep in your cleaning supply arsenal, but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to replace this with anything else. It makes a nice addition but that’s it.
If you tried it, what did you think? Sound off in the comments!
