I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix lately, and I really got into a variety of different shows, both for adults and kids. I decided if anyone just wants to stream Netflix for a day or just a few hours, I have a list of recommended shows I could give.
Let’s goooooooooo!
For Adults:
The Crown
This series follows the true story of England’s royal family through many generations. The royal family, y’all…is a hot ass mess, especially Queen Elizabeth. You will be throughly entertained and maybe a little disgusted.
Schitt’s Creek
I love this irrevelant comedy that features a family going from riches to rags and back to riches.
The Original Kings of Comedy
Not for the faint of heart and definitely NSFW. This comedy features Steve Harvey, D.L. Hugley, Cedric the Entertainer, and the late Bernie Mac.
Dave Chappelle
You really can’t go wrong with any Chapelle show you watch on Netflix. My favorites are his old TV show (Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood stories are a gem!) and Sticks and Stones.
Bo Burnham: Inside
Shot entirely by himself in one room during the beginning of the pandemic, Bo’s one-man standup is hilarious.
Documentaries:
American Murder: The Family Next Door
The true crime documentary outlines the years and final days leading up to the murder of the Watts family murders by Christopher Watts. Warning: it might make you sick to your stomach.
White Boy
This is a documentary about White Boy Rick Wershle, who’s legend is bigger than the true story.
Unsolved Mysteries
Revived from the old late 80’s/early 90’s series, this show follows the unsolved mysteries of disappearances, murders, and even a few UFO sightings. Warning: it’s a bit creepy so don’t watch it alone or at night!
Bully
This true documentary follows five families as they deal with bullying and their different responses. It’s a must-watch for every parent. It’s a must-watch even if you’re non-parent.
Minimalism
For those downsizing, I highly recommend this documentary. It’s about getting rid of what you don’t need and only keeping what you do need.
Tidying Up with Marie Kondo
I learned so much with the Kondo method and I have employed it ever since. She teaches you how to fold, straighten, and get rid of mess you don’t need!
For Kids:
Alien TV
This show is about aliens who learn things on earth – Halloween, babies, dating, etc. It’s rather hilarious and even teaches the kids a thing or two.
Boss Baby
I love both the show and the movie so I recommend both. It’s about a baby, who, well, takes over the world. Kinda like how all babies do?
Masha and the Bear
It’s about a little girl who befriends a very patient bear. Personally, I think the girl is annoying as shit but Bear (my son) loves this show.
Vivo
It’s an animal (I’m assuming he’s an animal) that honors his old owner by vowing to get his music played. I loved the musical numbers of this and Bear loved every minute of this movie.
Kung Fu Panda
Bear loves this movie. It’s pretty self-explanatory – the panda learns and practices kung-fu.
